2023 is a Table Cape’s Got Talent
year!
Every second year we offer this popular talent contest to our children in Grades 3 to 6 and this year, our co-ordinator is Mrs Erin Munro. So far, she has enthusiastically commenced sharing the information with students and class teachers. Students have nominated and decided if they will enter either a solo, partner or group act… and are now focused on practising!
In week 1 our classes will vote for semi-finalists and then in the following week, these will perform for just our student group audience from grades 3 to 6.
In Week 3, on Wed 1 November, our TCGT Grand Final will be open for our school community to attend and enjoy the spectacular talent at our school. Our Grand Final will be held in the School Gym commencing at 1:30pm so please mark this special event on your calendar as we would love for families to join us in the audience.
Early Information about a… New Whole School Program for Term 4: PosiSchools is… a 21 day school program designed to teach children the skills to kick start positive habits for life.
The PosiSchools program is designed by leading wellbeing education and mental health experts and draws on a range of human sciences including wellbeing and learning sciences. PosiSchools provides evidence-based strategies, skills, and knowledge that help students navigate life more effectively. The content is designed to be adaptable for students with varying capabilities and challenges.
PosiSchools is an initiative designed to improve the mental health of children through educating participating students on the power of a positive mindset.
How does the program work?
The program consists of 21 days of activities, delivered in short, bite-sized sessions. It takes 21 days to form a habit so we’re doing just that – helping to build healthy habits! The content is ready-made for teachers to bring fun and inspiration to the classroom. The program is designed for Grades 1 to 6; however, we will also be inclusive of our Kinders and Preps participating with key positive social habits appropriate for their age and stages of development.
What about PosiSchools Posisocks?
A special extra ‘positive’ for all students K to 6 and staff is that everyone will receive a pair of Posisocks as we launch our school program focus.
“Posisocks came from the idea that putting your socks on every morning is one of the most common routines we all have. We believe a small action each day can become a trigger for setting a more positive mindset. Posisocks are comfy and cool socks (well we like to think so) with a positive message that triggers positive thinking – win the morning, win the day!”
