Upcoming Mid-Year: ‘Prep to 6 Communicating Learning Progress to Families’ – including ‘Sharing Evidence of Learning, Mid-Year Reports & Parent/Carer – Teacher Meetings’
On Friday 21 June, students will take home an envelope containing their Mid-Year Report and some samples of learning for English, Maths and a selection of specialist curriculum areas may be included now or come home during Terms 3 and 4. Along with attending a ‘Parent/Carer – Teacher Meeting,’ these are all important components of how we now share ‘Communicating Learning Progress with Families’ across the year.
Importantly, it is now time to book your preferred teacher meeting time… to be held during the  two-week period from Monday 24 June until Thursday 4 July!
In the last two weeks of Term 2, we are offering the following days/times for each 15 minute ‘Meeting’ to take place after school:
- Monday (24 June & 1 July), Wednesday (26 June & 3 July) and Friday (28 June) - times between 3:00 and 3:45pm and
- Tuesday (25 June & 2 July) and Thursday (27 June & 4 July) - times between 3:00 and 4:30pm
Please book a preferred meeting time (15min session) either by:
- accessing the on our Schoolzine eNewsletter link below, the tile on the app or
- by contacting the School Admin Office (either by phone 6442 3377 or in person) and they will access the link for you
Importantly, your ‘Parent/Carer – Teacher Meeting’ appointment time can either take place:
- at school, ‘face-to-face’ in your child’s classroom
Or
- via a phone conversation (NB once you have booked your appointment time, please send your child’s teacher/s a ClassDojo message confirming this as your preferred option)
Our Admin Office has a record of families who require a duplicate copy of all aspects of reporting (these are posted to the parent). If your circumstances have changed and/or if this is a new request, then please contact our Admin Office 6442 3377 as soon as possible to ensure your details are updated in readiness for our first learning progress and duplicate reports being issued.
All teachers are really looking forward to meeting and sharing about each child’s progress so far in 2024… so I would encourage you to book early!

Mid-Year: ‘Kinder Communicating Learning Progress to Families’  – including ‘Sharing progress against the Kinder Development Check 1 & Parent/Carer – Teacher Meetings’
Kinder families will also have an opportunity to meet and discuss their child’s first Kinder Development Check and their child’s settling-into Learning and routines at school. Please note that our Kinder teachers are not using the P to 6 online booking system, as they will make contact directly with families to confirm a suitable meeting time. Â
Meetings will also be held during the last two weeks of school (as for P to 6); however, Kinder teachers may be able to accommodate an ‘in the day meeting’ on a Monday. Please feel free to approach your child’s teacher to also book early!

National Reconciliation WeekÂ
(27 May – 3 June) annually is a time for all Australians to learn about our shared histories, cultures, and achievements, and to explore how each of us can contribute to achieving reconciliation in Australia.
The theme for National Reconciliation Week 2024, ‘Now More Than Ever,’ encourages all Australians to be a voice for reconciliation in tangible ways in our everyday lives – where we live, work and socialise.
During my informal visits to classrooms last week, it was particularly rewarding to see such a range of student learning opportunities reinforcing how we can all engage with and explore Indigenous perspectives and culture.
We all have a role to play when it comes to reconciliation. And in playing our part we collectively build relationships and communities that value First Nations peoples, histories, cultures and futures.

Student Council Updates
- LEGO Brixhibition, Build & Design Competitions:
- The Brixhibition will continue until early next week – class viewing and voting will be finished by Tuesday 11 June. We are planning to announce the category winners at our next Sharing Assembly. Many thanks to the 60 ‘build’ entrants for participating in this year’s competition.
- New LEGO ‘Design’ Competition – we were thrilled to have received 20 entries. The Student Council have judged each category and will also have winners to announce. Excitedly we have now sent a scan of the 4 winning designs to the NW Lego builders and one school entry will be selected, created and displayed at the regional Brixhibition in July!
- Assembly ‘Student Raffle’ – the Student Council have voted to start offering student raffles once again this year. Classes have suggested possible prize ideas to their Student Councillor. Tickets will be 50c each or 3 for a $1 (max. purchase of $5 for a student) and sales are for Prep to 6 children in Terms 2 and 3 (with Kinders able to purchase in Term 4 when they commence joining in whole school assemblies).
Â
Student Councillors will sell tickets to Prep to 6 children at recess times under the covered-4 square play area (near the Canteen) from the ‘Tuesday to Thursday’ of an Assembly week. There are 2 assemblies planned for the remainder of this term: 13 and 27 June.
Â
To further build awareness and enthusiasm, our Student Leaders will visit classrooms at the start of each Assembly Week. We hope that this will inform children about each upcoming raffle so that they are able to support our Student Council to raise funds for projects in their school.
