School of the Year 2024…

Sea FM Burnie’s School of the Year competition for 2024 is now open for ‘public voting’. This year we have entered along with a number of primary schools located on the Northwest & West Coast!

This is a great opportunity for our school to potentially win $5,000 to enhance our school by:  

“Table Cape is a magnificent school with connected, resilient learners and committed, dedicated staff. We all value and care for our beautiful school environment with the help of our hard-working Educational Facility Attendants. If we were lucky enough to receive this incredible grant, we would put it towards further enhancing the amazing playground with a contribution to new basketball backboards, outdoor seating for our kinder and perhaps even a set of portable soccer goals- something for everyone! Our School Association is also fundraising to support these projects. We thank Sea-FM for the opportunity to make Table Cape even more wonderful.”

Communication Prep to 6 Learning Progress to Families

Over the last two weeks of this term, teachers will be sending home more snapshots (‘Evidence of Learning’) of your child’s learning on a specific task in English, Maths and Science or HASS.

These samples of learning have been assessed against the Australian Curriculum or your child’s Personal Learning Plan.

Attached to your child’s sample of work is a brief assessment, highlighting their level of achievement for this piece of work and information to indicate their next relevant learning focus.  

We trust you will enjoy the opportunity to see these samples of your child’s learning and celebrate with them about the feedback their teacher has provided. Students have worked very hard to complete these challenging and aspirational tasks. Our teachers have also spent many hours designing, teaching, assessing and compiling these gifts of learning and we are confident you’ll appreciate their efforts.  

2024 Book Fair

Mrs Crabtree has FINALLY been able to close off this year’s successful ‘Book Fair’ (held in our recent Book Week celebrations). 

• We sold an amazing $3,972!
• This earned the library an amazing $1143.50 in Book Product Commission and Rewards

A huge ‘Thank You’ to our dedicated Library Technician, Mrs Wendy Crabtree for her tremendous efforts in running this event… and to all families who were able to purchase; and in doing so, have ensured that our library will now benefit from some new books and resources for all students to enjoy!

Families Satisfaction Survey 2024 Reminder

The 2024 School Satisfaction Survey is open!

Every year the Department for Education, Children and Young People conducts a School Satisfaction Survey to find out what your child(ren)'s school does well and where it may improve. Your feedback is very important to help us inform our school improvement planning and decision-making.

If you have not had the opportunity to complete the survey about Table Cape Primary School yet, it is open until Friday 20 September 2024 and should take about 5 minutes of your time.

Each family should nominate one person to fill in this survey for their child(ren).

Student Council Update:

• Footy Colour’s Day – Wednesday 25 September – free out of uniform day if you come dressed as your favourite sporting team (any code)

School Association – we are planning…. fundraising with tea towels (to create lasting memories)!

Table Cape Primary’s School Association would like to remind families that they will be running a Tea Towel Fundraiser to raise money for playground equipment.

Our limited-edition Tea Towel design will be made up of self-portraits drawn by all our children and staff. Just like a yearbook on a tea towel. The pictures and names will be arranged all together as a commemorative design then screen printed onto certified organic 100% cotton 50x70cm tea towels.

As well as being great for lint free dish drying, the tea towels look fantastic and are a long-lasting memento of your children and their friends. They make great gifts that are easily mailed to relatives, so make sure you order a few extras for family members and your keepsake box.

The kids just love seeing their artwork in print. By purchasing our tea towels you are not only receiving a practical keepsake, but you’re also helping to achieve our fundraising goal, which would not be possible without your support!

The price per towel is $15 each.

The Tea Towel print run will be limited so make sure you, your family and friends don't miss out. We will have an example tea towel on display near the School Office for you can see the quality and size.

Students and staff have commenced completing their self-portraits and in our last newsletter for this term (26/27 September) we will be providing an order form for families to purchase this unique item!

So… start thinking about how many of these wonderful Tea Towels (such a memorable way to remember friends, teachers and staff) you may like to order for family keepsakes and as gifts (ideal for Christmas) for others and be ready to place your orders!
