The 2025 School Satisfaction Survey is OPEN!
We want to hear from you, as input from families is very important to help us inform our school-planning and decision-making. Every year the Department for Education, Children and Young People conducts a School Satisfaction Survey to find out what your child(ren)'s school does well and where it may improve.
We would be grateful if you took part in our online survey about Table Cape Primary School.
The survey is open from Monday 25 August 2025 until Friday 19 September 2025 and should take about 5 minutes to complete.
Each family should nominate one person to fill in this survey for their child(ren).
Take the online survey by clicking this Link, or pasting it in your browser: https://nam.dcv.ms/ni9VIMDWmw The survey is carried out on a secure website and all responses are anonymous and confidential.
All families in this school received the same survey link and no identifying information is collected. A summary of the survey results will be provided to schools. Responses from individuals or small groups will NOT be disclosed to any Department for Education, Children and Young People staff.
Please contact your school if you require any assistance.
Thank you for taking the time to fill in this survey.
Term 3 P to 6 Communicating Learning Progress – Evidence of Learning
From this week, families will be receiving via their Seesaw accounts (and for some families or work samples in hard-copy form) samples of student learning from Prep to 6.
This term families will receive an Evidence of Learning for English, Maths and either HASS or Science. Each Evidence of Learning is a snapshot of your child’s learning on a specific task. These tasks have been assessed them against the Australian Curriculum or your child’s Personal Learning Plan.
We trust you will enjoy the opportunity to see this snippet of your child’s learning and celebrate with them about the feedback their teacher has provided. Students have worked very hard to complete these challenging and aspirational tasks. Our teachers have also spent many hours designing, teaching, assessing and compiling these gifts of learning and we are confident you’ll appreciate their efforts.
Book Week... what an Adventure!
Thank you to families who joined us for our adventurous Book Character Dress-Up Parade and who strongly supported this year’s Book Fair.
Mrs Wendy Crabtree (Library Tech) has just completed the Book Fair tallying, and we have smashed her predicted target. We sold an AMAZING $5073 which results in $1644 worth of books for our school library collection.
Whilst she has asked for me to pass on a huge ‘thank you’ to everyone who supported our Book Fair; I too would like to express my appreciation and thanks for the enormous effort, Wendy has put into making Book Week and the Book Fair so successful.
NB If by chance you are waiting by our Admin Office you will be able enjoy some of the photos taken from this year’s Book Week dress-up day!

Fire Education Program
Firefighter Craig, from the Tasmania Fire Service (TFS), is visiting our school from Monday 8 to Wednesday 17 September week to present a Home Fire Safety Program to our Prep to Grade 6 students.
Kindergarten students, whilst not receiving a structured lesson, can expect a visit from the firefighter who will leave some free fun activities for the students to complete.
The age-appropriate program is designed to raise fire awareness in children and includes fun in class activities, videos, activity books, giveaways and a new kids website www.tfskids.com.au.
Parents and other family members are also encouraged to participate by reading the information and assisting your child with the after-school activities.
The TFS aims to deliver appropriate fire safety education to every primary school child in Tasmania and is part of the TFS’s ongoing commitment to create a fire safe Tasmania.
Key Fire Safety Messages include:
More information for parents, carers and teachers www.tfseducation.com.au
Exciting new website just for kids www.tfskids.com.au

Pre-School
TFS receives regular requests from preschools and child care centres asking for firefighters to visit and teach children about home fire safety.
TFS does not deliver structured fire safety programs to children below primary school age. This decision was made based on research carried out by the Mental Health Services of the Royal Children’s Hospital and the Metropolitan Fire Brigade in Melbourne. This research indicated that:
- Children under the age of five had low retention of the information they had learned; and
- In some children, the information had actually stimulated their curiosity about fire, and they had begun to play with fire.
TFS believes that parents and caregivers are the best people to make sure that very young children are safe from fire. To help with this, TFS has a fire safety website for parents, carers and teachers.
Hopefully, Craig may be able to visit our Pre-Kinder session on Friday 12 September between 9:00 -9:30am. TFS has also developed free giveaways for young children that introduce them to the friendly firefighter characters that they will meet when they receive the School Fire Education Program including a colouring book, a money box shaped like a fire truck, and stickers with home fire safety messages for the whole family. We will aim to include these later in the year in our ‘2026 Kinder Welcome’ pack for all pre-kinder children.
Student Wellbeing and Engagement Survey (SWES) – students in years 4, 5 & 6
The wellbeing of all students at Table Cape Primary is important to us. When students feel safe, supported, and connected, they are more likely to engage positively in their learning. This survey is part of the department’s Wellbeing for Learning – Child and Student Wellbeing Strategy and helps us gain a clearer understanding of our students’ current wellbeing, as well as identify opportunities to enhance the support we provide.
Students will be asked about a range of topics under the six Wellbeing domains:
- Positive Sense of Identity and Culture
Students will complete the survey on a device during class time. Participation is voluntary, and students can choose to skip questions or withdraw at any time. If families DO NOT want their child to take part, they can inform the school for their child to opt out.
Staffing Update
Welcome back to… Mrs Alice Wade, returning from an extended period of Long Service Leave. Mrs Wade joins us teaching Prep A on Fridays and Monday to Thursday, (half days) teaching student support programs.
Sophie Johnson has also accepted a teacher assistant contract with us from the start of this term. Sophie was a familiar relief TA working with us last term and it is terrific to have her become a regular member of staff supporting student needs.
Welcome to… Jason Rybarczyk - as our School Wellbeing Consultant. Jason has been appointed in our region to support staff wellbeing and will be on site on Thursdays.
